Eekk... Street Child email a couple of days ago and ask if I would like to fill the place as someone has dropped out, and it would really make a difference?!
And so I find myself writing this wondering what on earth is about to hit my World, but trusting the process, holding the vision and believing that through fear and vulnerability, is growth, opportunity and a whole load of awesomeness! It's what I value and encourage all my amazing clients, and I just hope that every little adventure and challenge I do, makes a difference to your inner courage, strength and hope.
When I did work with Street Child in Sierra Leone I was hugely touched and humbled by the children who in severe poverty had a smile on their faces. It was without a doubt one of the most inspiring and humbling experiences of my life..... I hope my adventure and support in Nepal will give these children something back (as I know it will give to us all out there), who despite huge earthquakes and displacement, loss and trauma still keep fighting. I will 100% bring back to you my stories, photos and updates to share and hopefully inspire us all.
I have to admit I'm just a tiny bit nervous.... but it's the same medic team as Sierra Leone so i trust them.... ! The longest journey of trains and flights, sleeping in a tent at high altitude with 4 others (i hope my neurology is calm for them!), and the small addition at the end of the week of a half marathon (I'm opting for this one, as after 3 months of anti biotics I think this is a wise choice, but if the altitude and Nepalese inspiration fills me with super powers I may leap into the full, as it's two laps),
I can't imagine what I'm heading out too.... the smells, senses, challenges, charity work, running, altitude, wild mountains and no everyday comforts we take for granted... but what I do know, through fear is always growth, and by using all my mental & physical knowledge, adventuring powers and more, I hope it adds great value to your inner courage and hope too.
So, I'm self funding the trip and feel a little pressure with the fundraising too, so if you feel compelled to support Street Child, my charity work with the children and endurance run at high altitude plus 2,000m of climbing, I cannot tell you how much it would mean to me, and know how much difference it will make to the kids, I can fill you in more on my return about exactly how.
The more people that know about Street Child, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for all your support, kindness, generosity and general following, you are awesome, know this,
Please send super powers especially on Sat 18th Nov when the half full marathon is, and Nepal is 5.45hrs ahead... although we have no wifi I will be back at the airport Sunday 19th 11am Nepalese time and will update you then,
It fits with Children in Need weekend too, so through all these rambles, I hope this fills you with a spark of inspiration, courage and strength to make the end of 2017 count,
You matter, I value you, and through this adventure I hope to make a difference and explore somewhere truly beautiful,
Big support and gratitude to you all,
Have the best week, follow Impact Marathon for updates & if I can help you make something happen, let me know,
Your Coach & Friend,
